Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice - Post-Master's

Angela Ciuca, PhD, DNAP, CRNA, Division Director

The MUSC College of Health Professions post-master’s Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Program (DNAP-PM) is designed for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) who already hold a master’s degree in nursing or in nurse anesthesia and are seeking opportunities to advance their knowledge and skills. Graduates of the DNAP program are prepared to create and lead new models of care delivery for communities locally, across the nation, and around the world. The 31-credit DNAP program offers a diverse selection of course work from health care leadership and healthcare economics to anesthesia crisis simulation and pain management.

The objectives of the post-master’s Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Program (DNAP-PM) program are to:

  • Empower CRNAs with the educational tools to assume leadership roles in health care
  • Expand the educational experiences of CRNAs with additional content in pain management and in crisis simulation
  • Develop and expand current clinical practitioner knowledge, skills and abilities in creating an evidence-based practice founded in scholarly research, best practice, and outcome evaluation.
