Welcome to the Medical University of South Carolina Academic Bulletin

The Academic Bulletin of the Medical University of South Carolina is the document of authority for all students. Each student must comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the Academic Bulletin, the relevant program handbook of the program in which the student is enrolled, and any other applicable University policies. The University expects students to be familiar with all student policies and procedures; a claim of ignorance of any of the policies and procedures will not be accepted as an excuse for violating them. The University reserves the right to amend or supplement the Academic Bulletin and student-related policies at any time upon such notice to students as it deems suitable.

Consequently, students should not consider the information in the Academic Bulletin to remain unchanged throughout their entire program of study. It may be necessary for the University to alter program requirements before any enrollment period. The Academic Bulletin should not be relied upon as a contract. It is intended solely as a guide for the student and is subject to change with the needs of the University. If there are conflicts between the Academic Bulletin and other documents or publications within the University, the Academic Bulletin shall prevail. The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) maintains documentation of changes.

Academic integrity relies upon an atmosphere among faculty, students, and administrative staff characterized by faithful adherence to standards conducive to the learning process. Policies and procedures are established and maintained to ensure that these standards are supported. Violations of these standards may result in sanctions against the student, with appropriate entries placed on the student's academic record.

The Medical University of South Carolina does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or marital status in the administration of admission policies, educational policies, financial aid, or any other university activity.
